Two influential Los Angeles County organizations have not endorsed incumbent Trustee Rosaelva Lomeli in the Rio Hondo College Trustee Area 3 race. The Los Angeles County Democratic Party lists the race as “No Consensus,” while the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO, does not list Lomeli among its endorsed candidates.
For an incumbent seeking another four-year term, the absence of support from these major Democratic and labor organizations should give voters pause. With Rio Hondo facing important decisions about leadership, accountability, and the future of the College, Concerned Staff at RHC encourages Trustee Area 3 voters to support a change in leadership and vote for Dr. Manuel Urteaga on November 3.
